Alumni Advisory Team

What is the Alumni Advisory Team?

Since its creation 40 years ago, the Student Refugee Program (SRP) has expanded its presence to more than 90 campuses across Canada thus welcoming more than 130 SRP students per year. As the Program continues to grow and WUSC continues to explore other complementary pathways to resettlement for refugees, the need for the intentional inclusion and integration of the knowledge, insight and experiences of those with lived refugee experience into these programmatic decisions is the utmost importance.

The Student Refugee Program Alumni Advisory Team (AAT) engages former program participants who are now strong leaders within their fields to provide their diverse perspectives, skills and experiences to various WUSC program activities and policy discussions. Members of the Advisory Team are spokespersons in internal and external public speaking engagements. They act as mentors for current students, provide technical advice to WUSC staff and engage their fellow alumni.

WUSC would like to thank the members of the Alumni Advisory Team for sharing their insights and experiences which allow us to strengthen and expand the work we do in support of young refugees both within Canada and globally.
